Hebrews 12:1 LET US FIX OUR EYES ON JESUS, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame and sat down at the right hand of GOD.

There is a company that makes Christian t-shirts, etc. called Cross-eyed…One of my favorite shirts says "YOU HAVE BLURRED VISION IF YOU ARE NOT FOCUSED ON JESUS."

Where is our focus??? Is it truly on the author and perfector of our faith, or is it earthly troubles? On how someone hurt you when you were a child, Something bad someone said about about you 5 years ago. We can carry the weight of these burdens on our own or we can take them to the cross…Scripture makes it clear that we do not have to carry and struggle with these things on our own. Jesus said come unto me those of you who labor, and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Another scripture tells us to cast our cares upon the Lord, for he cares for you.

You can say, that's easier said than done, You don't know what I've been through……and you are right, but Jesus Does.

He knows that we struggle with the uncertainty of tomorrow, the guilt of yesterday, and the frustrations of today..all those things that can hold us back from being all that God has for us to be. Are you going to fail, yes… are you going to stumble, yes… Is God going to give up on you….NO. His word says, "I will never leave you, nor forsake you. " (Hebrews 13:5)

Where is your focus? Are you looking at the doctors report, Are you looking at the stack of bills and saying there is no way I can make it, are you looking at the gifts that God has given you and saying I don't see how my ministry will ever take off. The more you focus on the problem, the bigger it becomes. The more you think about the things that have had you bogged down, the further down they will bring you.

But the more that you focus on God, the bigger he can become in your life. The more time that you spend thinking about his word, the stronger your faith can become. The more that you focus on the promises of God, the bigger you will become spiritually, and the better you will be able to face the problems of life….

So many promises that he has given, but if we have blurred vision, we can easily miss those promises.
The key is, to not focus on the problem, but to focus on the promise.

A promise that he will never leave or forsake you...A promise of love...A promise of eternal life...A promise of a future and a hope
